Description

Bethel School District is seeking appropriately licensed candidates for the position of two (2) Temporary Summer Programs Administrators.

 

This is an hourly, temporary position that oversees and supports K-12 summer programs, June 24, 2024 - August 15, 20 - 40 hours/week. There will be some additional hours required prior to the start of the program with dates and times to be determined. 

 

Rate of pay: $60/hour

Essential Functions: 

  • Supervises and supports a range of complex academic programs and operational projects.
  • In collaboration with district and building administrators, provides leadership for summer program staff.
  • Maintains a seamless summer program experience for students and families by providing timely communication and coordinating with transportation, nutrition services, and facilities.
  • Collaborates with faculty and staff to create the conditions required to build a culturally responsive and inclusive learning environment. 
  • Provides consistent emphasis on and support for student access to flexible and adaptive learning opportunities.
  • Coaches, mentors, engages and retains high-performing instructional staff.
  • Acts as an effective leader and ambassador for the campus and District beyond the school campus' walls. 
  • Anticipates challenges and plans in advance by assessing, reflecting, and acting appropriately. 
  • Acts as communication hub to ensure faculty and staff always have information and resources they need.  
  • Celebrates staff members' success frequently and visibly. 
  • Promotes unyielding adherence to a high bar for students' performance. 
  • Displays above-and-beyond ethic of service to students, families, and staff.
  • Maintains a strong, unrelenting focus on providing equitable opportunities for all students and belief that all students can learn with appropriate supports.
  • Manages difficult conversations/situations with faculty, staff, students and family members promptly and fairly. 
  • Builds strong trust-based relationships with all school stakeholders. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Firmly believe that all students will learn and improve - create a growth-mindset culture in the classroom
  • Possess strong academic training and content knowledge
  • Have extensive knowledge and experience demonstrating good instructional practices
  • Use data to inform instructional decisions
  • Connect well with students, staff, families and the school community – be open to learning about others, especially those who may be different from you
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Incorporate feedback and professional learning into practices
  • Maintain collaborative and collegial relationships with building staff, other administrators and district staff (be a team player)
  • Participate in opportunities to learn, show a strong willingness to grow and maintain an interest in improving
  • Recognize students’ different needs, abilities and interests and be flexible to adjust instruction to meet those needs, abilities and interests
  • Promote the school and district with staff, students, families and the community
  • Strive to support and maintain a strong professional learning community that encourages academic excellence for all students
  • Possess skills and abilities to effectively coach and evaluate assigned staff
  • Maintain a high standard of ethics in all professional relationships, actions and decision
  • Lead and support an environment that respects student, family, and staff confidentiality
  • Maintain regular, prompt, and predictable attendance

Minimum qualifications: 

  • Oregon Administrator License or applicants with completed coursework in an administrative licensure program and/or an administrative license application in progress will also be given consideration
  • 3 Years Teaching experience
  • Culturally proficient skills and strategies 

Highly desirable qualifications:

  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities, preferably Spanish/English
  • Experience working in richly diverse school communities and environments
  • Strong Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
  • Strong Knowledge of Response to Intervention Strategies
