Description

Bethel School District is seeking up to ten (10) 1.0 FTE Temporary Contract Licensed Substitutes for the 2024/25 school year. These subs must be available for the following (including but not limited to):

 

  • To work exclusively for Bethel School District as a substitute educator;
  • Work every licensed teacher contract day of the 2024/25 school year (includes non-student attendance days);
  • Be available by phone, to receive assignment information with potentially little to no advanced notice, including being contacted possibly late in the evening or early mornings;
  • Be prepared to work as a sub in any of our K-12 buildings/programs across the district;
  • To be available each day by the start of the school’s workday and to remain available or on duty until the end of the established workday (confer with building administrator on expected work hours);
  • To complete all assigned trainings and professional development, as needed, and in a timely manner;
  • To be in regular and consistent communication with Pamela Berry regarding your assignment;
  • To perform duties, as expected and assigned and
  • To comply with all District policies, state and federal laws, and guidance provided.

 

Salary Range: $46,048 to $ 92,927 (depending on experience, FTE, and education)

Contract Days: 192

These full-time, temporary positions will include insurance benefits and compensation will be determined in accordance with the EEA (Eugene Education Association) Collective Bargaining Agreement language (with review and verification of official transcripts and previous of relevant work experience).

 

 

Candidates who are licensed or will have the ability to be licensed by Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission by the start of the session are encouraged to apply.

Selection Factors:

  • Knowledge of educational programs offered in all schools and of basic educational techniques, as required by the position.
  • Knowledge of the basic developmental stages of a child's learning process.
  • Ability to schedule the workload, manage time, and meet the needs of students, the school, or a program.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work with small groups and individual students.
  • Ability to prepare materials for lesson plans and adapt, as needed, to meet the needs of students.
  • Ability to interact positively with children and adults, and observe individual student abilities.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, administrators, parents and co-workers.
  • Ability to safely and proficiently operate standard office and audio-visual equipment, as required by the position.
  • Ability to maintain an appropriate and legal level of confidentiality regarding students, staff, and other individuals.
  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable and prompt attendance.

 

Minimum qualifications: 

  • Possess an Oregon Teaching License valid for assignment by start of the school year
  • Ability to implement Culturally Proficient skills and strategies 
  • Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks

 

 

Highly desirable qualifications:

  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities, preferably Spanish/English
  • Experience working in richly diverse school communities and environments
  • Strong Knowledge of Culturally Responsive Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
  • Strong Knowledge of Multi-tiered Systems of Support
