Bethel School District is seeking qualified applicants for two 7 hour per day Educational Assistant II for the Bethel Transition Network.

Nature of Work

An Educational Assistant II provides individual and small group support and personal assistance, often in a standard or special purpose educational program, to students with distinct and exceptional educational needs and challenges as determined by a certificated specialist.  The primary purpose of positions in this class, which distinguishes it from positions of other classes, is to screen and assess the educational needs of students, provide instructional assistance to students in a classroom, and charting and recording results.  Clerical and word processing or computer database updating duties may be assigned to positions as time permits but are not considered primary tasks and do not require a large percentage of time.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous course work and training, or child development, childcare or instructional assistance experience that demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities needed to perform the work. Ability to prove Highly Qualified status under NCLB, or pass Bethel School District’s “Highly Qualified Assessment”. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training that ensures the ability to perform the work may be substituted for the required experience.
